THE D'AG DASH 鶴游

*RACE CANCELLED*

Sunday, 18 September 2022

Hobie Cat Beach, Hong Kong Island

The D’Ag Dash is a brand new multiple distance open water swim race from Hobie Cat Beach to Cape D’Aguilar on Hong Kong Island.  The 4-in-1 racing event includes Hong Kong’s first ever 10km swim race, as well as 5km, 1.8km and 900m to suit different abilities.

Cape D’Aguilar, or Hok Tsui (鶴咀), is the peninsula located on the south-east side of Hong Kong Island.  It shapes like a crane’s beak, thus inspired us to name the race 鶴游 (Hok Yau), which literally means Crane’s Swim. The 10km course leads to some of the most beautiful and picturesque caves and rock formations on the island. The 5km course leads to the former Cape D’Aguilar Battery from WWII.

The 1.8km & 900m are held in the scenic Tai Tam Bay, and perfect for those who are training for a triathlon race or love to sprint.

The D’Ag Dash is an incredible day of swimming for swimmers of all abilities.

The event is organised by AVRA and supports Splash Foundation and Nesbitt Centre.

  • Splash Foundation provides free learn-to-swim lessons to the under-privileged communities in Hong Kong. It has taught thousands how to swim and some of their graduates have become active open water swimmers. Please consider sponsoring 1 or more entries on a discounted rate for Splash swimmers.
  • Nesbitt Centre has been empowering adults with learning disabilities through vocational education and social enterprises since 1993.  Their projects includes Sailability, Café 8, The Nest Bakery and The Nest.  Hope you enjoy the race catering from Café 8 and The Nest Bakery.  You can get baking goods on race day to support the Nest Bakery, run by 4 disabled staff.

Race Schedule

The event will be from 8am to 2pm.  Based on entries, we will plan it as a regular race, while complying with the current social distancing regulations.  The race schedule will depend on the number of registration in each category.  Therefore please sign up as early as possible.

Race start times will be published after registration closes.
